Australian Opalised Wood Fossil Gold & Silver Ring

A piece made for a modern-day pirate who loves a good story.

The ring’s irregular edges and patterns give it the feel of old treasure — something that could have been lost at sea and found again years later.

At the centre is an Australian opalised wood fossil from Yowah in western Queensland. It’s a beautiful piece of natural history, formed where the original wood material has been replaced by opal.

The textured sterling silver band is approximately 2mm thick and 8mm wide, with a 2.2mm 9ct yellow gold band running around its centre.

The opal is set in a 9ct yellow gold bezel and measures approximately 18 × 10mm.
